We're back from "deepest, darkest Africa"

We arrived yesterday from Harare, Zimbabwe... after a slight mix up with flights, which lead to some quick phone calls and a slight panic.

Impressions of Zimbabwe: soaring inflation, the official rate is 1200% p.a. The largest bill is $100,000, but as you can see from the third scan, we needed 13 of these to pay for coffee! The official bank rate is approx. $110,000 for each USD, whilst the black market rate is $550,000 for each USD!
People are really friendly, but the economic situation is showing some strain in this department. Food is becoming scarce and unless you are a business owner, it is quite tough.
There are constant power cuts, shortage of certain products... but overall people seem to be very optimistic.

Above are some scans... Top, H handling a baby Python. Middle H and her new favourite friend - Dumpy the Elephant (we did an Elephant ride and "Dumpy was her name...").

I will post more scans later...

Okay some of you may know we will be going to Zimbabwe

for a short trip. The picture below was what happened last time she went to Zimbabwe - hair extension!

The top picture was done locally. I wonder what will be next.

I will try and update the blog when I'm away, depending upon certain factors...

Matt in Calibre

Military influence?

Wicked Cowboy boots on Cathy

These are cool Cowboy boots. They are predominantly brown with some snake skin and caramel piping. However, they had some green highlights as can be seen in the above scan (generally near the toes). Cathy wore a matching "Apple Green" cotton Trench Coat with a slight safari look (sorry guys, the pics didn't turn out, but part of the Trench can be seen underneath her hand).

Mel and H at Gab and Trav's Wedding...

Mel works with H at LP. Both wore stunning outfits. Mel was dressed in pink number with some terrific heels. The heels looked stunning and suited the dress perfectly!

Congratulations to Gab and Trav... Married in Greece, partied in Snedden

Gab looked stunning in her wedding dress. It was perfect. What I especially liked was the fact that is was short enough to show off her heels. Typically, the wedding dresses I see hide the most important item (next the dress of course) the shoes. Trav and Gab eloped in Greece and celebrated at a Bar/Lounge in Snedden.

By popular demand, what H wore yesterday...

People ask so I listen... many want to know what H wore... So by popular demand, this is what H wore yesterday. A sparkly cardigan and pave set belt buckle. Not bad for a dreary Friday.

Brooches by H...

Something H wore to dress up her Black Velvet Blazer... they are big and bold, so they do make a statement.

Talking about a Pimp's watch...

My friend Den has questionable taste sometimes... this is a Yellow Gold Rolex Day Date with a Diamond Set Bezel.... ok, its not his, but...

As promised, Eli's ring

Here is a detailed shot of Eli's Mayan ring. As can be seen a vague resemblance to a Jaguar, as we know the Mayan "idolised" the Jaguar.
