Bernie's LANGE 1

One of my favourite brands Lange and Sohne. I had lunch with Bernie today, who was sporting his newly aquired Lange 1 in White Gold. Beautifully Teutonic in quality and finish. But to fully appreciate, just turn over and look at the back - you really don't get better then this!

Dinner with Frank and Nancy

Frank and Nancy were in town for a few weeks. Frank was seconded here for four years from the States. He and Nancy (wife) fell in love with Melbourne, especially the food and wine aspects.

Frank is a big time collector of watches. He has had everything, including Langes, PP, VC, APs, Breguets etc... But when he travels he wears a Rolex. Above is Frank's Rolex Turn O Graph, notice the new soft lugs and the polished case.

Shoe party of H?

We went to dinner last night at Amanda's, but instead of bringing Wine, H brought her shoes. You see Wendy, Amanda's sister in law has a shoe fetish like H. Above are some of Wendy's pride and joys.

Nah's new card... sweet!

Nah started a small business making Chuppahs. Here is her website;
www.chuppahsbynaomi.com.au

Her cards are sweet!

H and her new purchases!

I keep reminding her that is nearly one pair per week for the last couple of months! Although the silver heels are quite sexy!

Mil's Oris watch...

Mils is Jem's wife (earlier post). They bought matching watches together a few months back. Both watches are Oris Big Crowns. Mil's is a complication version with a Moon Phase. Great watches for a great price.

My mate Andrew and his TAG Heuer

Andrew has had this watch for around 5 years now. He has surfed with it, swam and done near everything conceivable with it. TAG Heuers are great watches for everyday. They can take as much abuse as you. I reiterate, for most of my friends I recommend a watch like TAG Heuer, Omega etc...

Here is what H wore today ...

H had her new Country Road Cardigan on... quite nice considering CR's ranges the last few years have suffered. But the new seasons stuff is excellent. I just hope its not too late. BTW the secret in buying CR is to wait to the sales (which seem to happen all to often) or the special discoutn vouchers they send out!

H fell in a love with a mirror...

The mirror is approximately my height and has a beautiful baroque style frame.

I hit the streets next week ...

After testing this site, successfully I might add, it is time to bring more content into the blog. So, as of middle of next week I will hit the streets. I will try and capture the style of Melbourne(if it will let me?). My friend Frank, has designed a card, so I don't look like a pervert taking photos!

Hopefully I will have some scans of what people wear in Melbourne by next week. Wish me luck!

Brunetti ... A Melbourne institution

Yes the perfect Machiato. It does exist and it is consistently good! Brunetti in Carlton serves a perfect "joe". Sit, have a slice of cake and or a Gelati. Enjoy!

The Pocket Square

Need I say more. White, simple and linen. A classic!

Marta and her new Jaeger LeCoultre watch

This is Marta, Rezo's partner (earlier post). Marta just picked up a Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Gran Sport. The Reverso is a classic and considered by many horologist a cult icon. The Gran Sport is a sturdier version of the traditional Reverso. The unique feature of the Reverso is its ability to change faces (dials), by flipping or reversing the case (see scan below). Hence it enables Marta to have a "day" dial or a "night" (diamond set) dial! The Reverso was initially manufactured in the 1930's and I consider it a timeless piece (pardon the pun).

Similar to Marta's JLC, but on rubber strap.

H posing next to Patrick Faulkner's "Last Order"

For my last birthday, H bought me a Patrick Faulkner painting. Patrick mostly paints Art Deco styled paintings, and H knows I love Art Deco. This one is called "Last Drinks".

H strikes again...another pair of shoes...

Sunday 2nd April (mobile phone goes off during the most riveting Grand Prix I have witnessed in the last 5 years. "Honey, I just found some gorgeous Marc Jacobs on sale, for half price!?" (Notice the question/statement.)
"So?"
"Can I buy them?" H in an excited voice.
"Well, you did buy two pairs yesterday, I will leave it up to you. Use your best judgement." I replied in my dubious voice.
"OK, see you later!"
A couple of hours later....pair of brand new red Marc Jacobs!

This is how H anchored her new Marc Jacobs today... love her T-shirt, which was bought in Zara Dubai...

H's Jamin Puech bag ...

H was wearing her favourite Jamin Puech handbag today. It is a Mandarin Orange colour with grommets dotted throughout the side. So far, she has received quite a few comments about the bag!

Rezo and the Australian Grand Prix

Rezo enjoying the day!

I'm a huge Grand Prix fan, to the chagrin of H. I was lucky enough to get an invitation from my mate Rezo, who managed to get a spare ticket for me. We sat on the first corner, at the Brahbam Stand, which had a wonderful view (see second scan). The GP is a great place to watch people, as you get everyone from the die hard petrol heads to the corporate "players" who sometimes have no idea that a F1 race/practice/qualifying is actually on (the F1 engine noise does give it away).

FYI: Rezo is wearing an Omega Speedmaster Day/Date Chronograph. A nice watch that is classical and suited the event we were attending! Thanks Rezo for a great day!

H's shopping hoard

H went shopping today and as usual managed to find some shoes that were quite good looking and reasonably priced - to my amazement! They are similar (aside from the colour) and have detailing exhibited in more expensive shoes! Well done H!

The Empress' boots ...

These are one of H's favourite cowboy boots. They have a beautiful finish and great detailing. To be honest I think these started H's addiction to cowboy boots!
